Programme Overview

The Business (Accounting Option) programme is a three-year senior high school curriculum designed to equip students with practical and theoretical knowledge in accounting, business management, and financial administration. It is offered under the West African Examinations Council (WASSCE) framework and prepares students for careers in accounting, finance, banking, and business administration, as well as further tertiary studies in related fields. 

Programme Objectives
The programme aims to:
  • Develop competence in recording, classifying, and interpreting financial transactions and information
  • Provide foundational understanding of business management principles and practices
  • Build analytical and problem-solving skills in economic and business contexts
  • Prepare students for WASSCE examination success and professional accounting qualifications
  • Foster professional ethics and responsible financial stewardship
  • Equip students with practical skills applicable in real-world business environments
  • Enable progression to tertiary-level studies in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, and Business Administration

Entry Requirements
  • Completion of Junior High School (JHS) with satisfactory performance

Assessment and Certification
 Students sit for WASSCE examinations at the end of the three-year programme in their chosen subjects. Pass grades in Accounting and related subjects are recognized internationally and facilitate access to further professional training and university admission.
